We’re Back In Church – Live!

Published May 21, 2020 by MPCC in Events, Sermons

Church services will resume live this coming Sunday January 10, 2021. We’re only having the worship service at 10:30 AM for now. The doors will be open from about 10:15 to 10:30 AM. We’ll only be using the front doors of the sanctuary. We’ll observe social distancing by using every other pew and they will be marked accordingly. We’re also asking you to sit with family groups as well. There will be soap and hand sanitizer provided. And if you’d like to use or wear a mask, we encourage you to do so and bring one with you. If you’re not comfortable attending at this time, just know we will still be broadcasting via Live Stream online.

The leaders have come up with the following guidelines to use as we re-start our services.

Mt. Pleasant Christian Church Phase 1 Action Plan for Return to Service

Mt. Pleasant Christian Church leadership is excited to welcome attendees back for in-person worship services.  Church leadership will make every effort to observe CDC guidance and recommendations from elected officials to ensure the safety of attendees at Mt Pleasant.

The church will be implementing the following safety precautions as North Carolina enters phase 2 of reopening.

  • Hand sanitizer will be placed at the church main entrance (narthex), the church entrance from the fellowship hall/educational wing, and in the fellowship hall.
  • The church building will be closed beyond the bathrooms in the education wing including the youth room and back classrooms.
  • Nursery and children’s services will not be offered, but children are encouraged to attend the main service with their parents.
  • Servers, greeters, and staff will try to maintain a 6 foot space around them.
  • Attendees will observe seating protocol as follows:
    • Attendees will be encouraged to sit in family groups with minimum six feet (three seats) between family groups.
    • Attendees will be seated in every other row.
    • All four seating sections will be available for seating to ensure maximum distance available for seating
    • Occupancy will be capped at 50% capacity with overflow seating for streaming service available in the fellowship hall.
  • High risk members and visitors are encouraged not to attend service at this time.  Livestream will still be available for viewing at home.
  • Pencils, attendance cards, bibles, and hymnals will be removed from available seating.  All information needed for the worship service will be displayed on the screen.
  • Choir will not be seated in the choir loft.
  • Communion will be distributed in a hands free manner.
  • Offering will be collected at the church exits.

The front Sanctuary Doors will be open at 10:15 to 10:30 for entry.  All other entry doors will remain locked. Leadership anticipates these precautions to be only temporary and out of an abundance of caution.  We continue to pray for a fast end to the pandemic and a return to normal service soon.
