Sermon: Like A City On A Hilltop
Text: Matthew 5:14-16
Thesis: We are to be light, not shade

I. It Means Being Prepared To Give An Answer For Your Eternal Hope. (I Peter 3:15)
A. We’re to be ready to defend the truth.
B. Be ready to give name to the hope and expectation you have.

II. It Means Being Prepared To Give Audience To The Truth. (2 Timothy 4:2)
A. What level of preparedness is the church today?
B. Ministry is always being ready to bring others closer to Jesus.

III. It Means Being Adequate Reflector Of The Light Of Jesus. (Matthew 5:14 – 16)
A. Jesus is asking us to reflect His light.
B. Jesus is calling us to be a contagious lampstand.

Conclusion: Let me ask you a question. What kind of job are you doing? I can honestly say I’ve not always been on my best game. I need to focus carefully on being a shining example for Christ. We all need to express His message so others can see and grasp the truth of the gospel. Now is not time to cast shade, but to cast the light of Jesus. May we do that as being as contagious as possible.
