Sermon: Pretty Good Isn’t Enough
Text: 2 Corinthians 13:5-9
Thesis: Jesus Is Our Standard.

I. Our Actions Are Tested.
A. We try to guard this area pretty good as Christians.
B. No one is immune to failure.

II. Our Thoughts Are Tested.
A. All actions begin as a thought.
B. The Bible gives us many things we should think on.

III. Our Motives And Intentions Are Tested.
A. We need to run all our motives and intentions by the scrutiny of God’s Word.
B. All men should ask God to help them with their motives and intentions.

Conclusion: I don’t want to be pretty good when it comes to serving the Lord and being what He’s called me to be. I want an accurate view of where I am and where He wants me to be. His light, from the Word will allow me to have that. Paul wanted the Corinthians to have it as well, even as he humbly evaluated himself. Be righteous, not pretty good.
