Sermon: The Audience
Text: James 1:2 – 8
Thesis: There’s Significant Purpose In These Words.

I. James Was Writing To People Facing Trials Of Many Kinds.
A. The faithful will face trials.
B. We must face the variety.

II. James Was Writing To People Who Were About To Crack.
A. James’ message was that there was good news.
B. There is help to be had.

III. James Was Writing To People Trying To Live Out What They Believe.
A. These were members of the body of Christ.
B. These trials were all due to their faith.

Conclusion: James was talking to real people living in a true struggle of life, all due to their choice of Jesus. He was telling them of the importance of persevering and not cracking under the pressure. He was encouraging them to remain faithful. He was being extremely practical and straightforward encouraging his readers to live out a faith that works. You see sometimes, perseverance is overcoming.
