Sermon: The Let The Truth Be Known
Text: 1 John 3:1
Thesis: The Bible Alone Reveals God As He Truly Is

I. God Is Sometimes Pictured As A Helpless Old Man.
A. He is the “Ancient of Days.”
B. Nothing about God is helpless.

II. God Is Sometimes Pictured As Harsh Ogre.
A. God is no monster.
B. His judgments are fair and righteous.

III. God Is Sometimes Pictured As A Disinterested Deity.
A. God is interested in all our details.
B. He does not overlook the happenings of our world.

IV. God Is Sometimes Pictured As Cosmic Killjoy.
A. God is a universal, not a limited God.
B. God hasn’t created limits or consequences to steal joy from us.

Conclusion: I have tried to look at the four ways many in our world view God. I have shown where they incorrect and then shown how God really is. But this is a job the church has to do regularly. False advertisement will hurt our efforts to evangelize the world. We have to share the right vision, the right truth about our loving Heavenly Father. The world needs an accurate vision.
