The Mount Pleasant Christian Church was organized out of the desire to restore New Testament Christianity on Saturday, July 18, 1868 at Brown’s School House (later called Sallee Branch School) now the site of Belvoir Elementary School. This was accomplished following a week of meetings conducted by A.J. Battle and Josephus Latham during which there were thirty-four baptisms. Mt. Pleasant Christian Church will hold it’s annual Candlelight Service, December 24th at 7:30 PM in the main sanctuary. Come join us as we celebrate the fulfillment God’s promise to send the Messiah, Jesus, the savior of the world! The celebration will consist of prayer, music, communion and God’s Word. The service concludes with those in attendance lighting up the room with candles (provided) and song. Come join us as we celebrate the good news of God’s faithfulness.

April 26, 27 and 28 is Mt Pleasant’s Spring Revival. Each evening’s service starts at 7:00 PM. This year’s speaker is Billy Ray Askew. Billy Ray has been preaching the gospel for twenty years. In addition, he teaches community college, pretends to farm a little, garden a lot and fish when possible. He and Penny have been married for 24 years and have two children, Ruthie, who is 13 and Will, who is 7. Mt Pleasant Christian Church’s Wednesday night Bible Study will be restarting on 9/14/16 at 7:00 pm.
