Sermon: Leave God’s Job Alone
Text: Proverbs 20:22
Thesis: We Need To Allow God To Make Things Right.

I. The Desire For Revenge Begins With Hurt.
A. Hurting others doesn’t bring healing.
B. There’s never a proper excuse for seeking revenge.

II. The Desire For Revenge Comes From Being Let Down.
A. We know that flesh will fail us.
B. Being neglected and abandoned is long and terrible pain.

III. The Desire For Revenge Gives Us One Goal.
A. We want a guilty verdict with swift punishment.
B. We must decide what’s the most important thing.

Conclusion: Wanting revenge on one who has hurt you physical or emotionally is a very normal thing. Stopping to think and consider all the options is a wise choice. But letting God have it and moving forward in your life is a godly choice. It won’t been easy to do when the wound is flesh and the emotions are alive and well. God hasn’t given us any right to settle scores. Judgment is God’s job.
