Sermon: The Lengths He Would Go
Text: Philippians 2:6 – 8
Thesis: Jesus Stooped Low, So We Could Rise Up.

I. Jesus Took No Reputation.
A. He came to earth as a man.
B. He came as a servant.

II. Jesus Became Obedient To Death.
A. Death is a real eye opener.
B. It’s not easy to be obedient.

III. Jesus Died On A Cross.
A. This was no ordinary death.
B. This was brutal and torturous.

Conclusion: What happened on this occasion was the redemption of man. When God, reached out and said to Satan, “Oh, not you don’t.” What happens other times, is you get pie on your face and a reminder of how weak and lowly we truly are. I need a lesson of humility and sacrifice from time to time. Maybe you do too. When was the last time you humbled yourself and made something right, which needed to be? When was the last time, as a saint, that you made a sacrifice for the Lord and His church? May our attitudes be like that which we see here in this passage.
