Sermon: Do You Really Want To Do His Job?
Text: Romans 12:19 – 21
Thesis: Let God Do What He Does Best.
I. The Desire To Get Even Is Quite Natural.
A. To feel unequal due to another’s action can make us angry.
B. Getting even is the rule of the jungle.
II. Remember That Revenge Is Natural, Not Spiritual.
A. Christians are to be at war with the flesh or natural world.
B. Giving grace is the rule of the kingdom.
III. You Can Alter Your Reaction To Yesterday.
A. There is so much to consider before acting out inappropriately.
B. Each of has a choice to make.
Conclusion: There are jobs and skills men have. Being God is not one of them. In the garden man had everything his heart could have desired. But one tree caught his attention, the one he was not to eat of. When told he would be more like God if he ate it, he did so. The consequences were not good and are still being dealt with daily. If you step up to do what God alone can do, there will be consequences as well. These too may not be too good. Let go and let God.
