Sermon: The Problem With Wealth
Text: James 5:1 – 6
Thesis: Wealth Can Corrupt If We’re Not Careful.
I. The Issue With Wealth Is How We Get It.
A. James will address this from the standpoint of cheating laborers.
B. He will also speak more generally of other ways which dishonor others and God.
II. The Issue With Wealth Is How We Guard It.
A. These men chose to “hoard” their wealth.
B. These people are not prepared to meet God or eternity.
III. The Issue With Wealth Is How We Give It.
A. We are blessed to then bless others.
B. Money is only good for one thing.
Conclusion: There is nothing wrong with wealth. But there can be much wrong with how we acquire it, how we guard it and how we share it. God’s Word tells us exactly what to do in each of these. May God bless us to use all our treasures appropriately.
