Sermon: Put The Word Where It Counts
Text: Psalm 119:10 & 11
Thesis: God’s Word Is Sin Preventative.

I. Select Scriptures That Address Sins Which Trouble You Most.
A. This is your call to arms.
B. No one seeks God without doing battle with flesh, sin, and the adversary.

II. Nail These Passages In Your Mind.
A. Memorize the passages which help you most.
B. They are guaranteed effective.

III. Quote Them Out Loud When You’re Tempted.
A. Silence isn’t a wise choice.
B. There is something special about the audible word.

Conclusion: We have looked at sin from several different angles. And now we’ve even looked at how we can prevent it. The best preventative is God’s Holy Word. It is the truth which will lead us to God and away from temptation. We just must be honest with ourselves and seek out the passages which are most helpful to our individual lives. Then, memorize these passages as though your life depends on it. Then be prepared to pull it for battle in a moment’s notice.
