Sermon: Being Effective
Text: James 5:16
Thesis: Choose to be an effective witness.
I. Our Recipe Includes Contributing To A Functioning Church.
A. We need more doing church rather than being church like.
B. The church needs to show up regularly with a clear message.
II. Our Recipe Includes Actively Sharing Your Faith.
A. Anything which doesn’t produce is thought to be deficient.
B. In the first century Christianity grew at such alarming rates that the world was concerned.
III. Our Recipe Includes Disciplining Ourselves For Faithfulness.
A. We need to produce fruit of the Spirit.
B. Faithfulness is a missing doctrine.
Conclusion: Being a believer doesn’t get our prayers answered. The key is that the prayers of the righteous are powerful and effective. This means that these prayers are literally strong and full functional. This is what the Lord needs from His church today. We have the recipe, but the question is will be use it. I pray that we will, and we will become fully contagious.
