Sermon: The New Game
Text: Mark 9:35
Thesis: Jesus Followers Play A Different Game.

I. The Object Of This Game Is To Show Humility.
A. Humility is a rare commodity.
B. Humility makes one most useful to God.

II. The Object Of This Game Is To Show Honesty.
A. The climb of the ladder often causes us to make choices.
B. Honesty and truth is the foundation of this “new game.”

III. The Object To This Game Is To Show Joy.
A. Real sincere joy seems to elude so many.
B. Joy is only found among the redeemed.

Conclusion: Winning in and at life depends on which games you’re playing. If it involves climbing ladders then you’re not playing God’s game. And the fact is this, it’s His game which really matters. It’s vastly different that the world’s game. It put the Twelve in a tizzy trying to wrap their minds around it. But it does the same for people today. You see those embracing their smallness by the world’s standard just keep getting bigger and bigger in God’s eyes. If you have humility, honesty and joy, then you are the big winner.
