Sermon: What Color Will Your Response Be?
Text: James 1:2
Thesis: May Our Color Honor God.

I. Some People’s Response To Trials Is Red.
A. These people respond to trials with anger and rage.
B. But this response doesn’t really help much.

II. Some People’s Response To Trails Is Yellow.
A. There people are fearful and retreat from the world.
B. We can’t escape trials, no matter how we’d like to.

III. Some People’s Response To Trials Is Black.
A. These people view everything in the darkest of terms.
B. In God there is always hope.

Conclusion: In my life I want to honor God in both the good and worst of times. I know that trials are a part of selecting Christ for a lifetime. James knew that not all trials are alike. He also knew that the reactions to trials would be as unique and different as the trials themselves. This is why the Holy Spirit inspired him to choose this word when writing verse 2 of chapter 1. What color will your response take?
