Sermon: Giving Credibility To Christianity
Text: James 1:26 & 27
Thesis: It’s Important That Our Walk Match Our Talk.

I. Our Conversation Reveals Our Christian Character.
A. Our words are so important.
B. Our words reveal the contents of our hearts and minds.

II. Our Concerns Reveal Our Christian Character.
A. The things which concern God should concern us.
B. Our hearts will follow what is important to us.

III. Our Conduct Reveals Our Christian Character.
A. We are to live by a higher moral standard.
B. We are to be distinctive from the world.

Conclusion: To give Christianity true credibility we must know Christ and what He’s called us too. Then commit ourselves to those things, day in and day out. Not just doing them but change and make them our normal. Our character should be patterned after that of our Savior. And as James points out from this passage this character will be evidenced by our conversation, by our concerns and by our conduct. For the sake of the lost and to the glory of God, I pray we will be successful.
