Sermon: Just No Justification
Text: Daniel 3:16 – 18
Thesis: We Have To Lay It On The Line.

I. “I’m Bowing On The Outside, But I’m Not Bowing On The Inside.”
A. This isn’t evident to those around us.
B. This is a cop-out to doing the Lord’s will.

II. “I’ll Ask Forgiveness, Right After I Get Back Up.
A. This isn’t the story of grace that God wants us to tell.
B. Maybe we won’t get back up.

III. “My Fingers Were Crossed.”
A. This is a juvenile attempt to rationalize disobedience.
B. We don’t want to make disobedience our habit or routine.

IV. “I’m Only Breaking One Of The Ten Commandments.”
A. One is one too many.
B. We’re saved by faith.

V. “What Good Am I To God If I’m Dead?”
A. Don’t forget all the times God came through.
B. It all comes down to your faith.

Conclusion: We may never be placed in a situation where we have to make the decision that these men made on this occasion. But you know, none of us know that. I do believe that there will be more of these moments coming in this life as Christianity has a target on it’s back. And I pray that I will be up for the challenge. I pray that all of us will not try to rationalize sin in our lives with rationalizations such as these and others. Let’s work hard to be ready, every day, to do what would honor and glorify God in our world.
