Sermon: Not All Subtraction Is Blessed
Text: John 14: 12 – 14
Thesis: Don’t Subtract The Miracles.

I. Without The Miracles, We Have A Jesus Who’s Kind And Compassionate, But Has No Power.
A. The kindness and compassion of Jesus is important.
B. There was great power within Jesus.

II. Without The Miracles We Can Follow Jesus’ Teachings And Never Experience His Work.
A. Jesus was amazing teacher.
B. His miracles identified Him as the One promised.

III. Without The Miracles We Fall Short Of The Standard And Miss The Point Entirely.
A. The miracles were setting a standard.
B. I want to see greater things done.

Conclusion: Not all subtraction is blessed. Removing the miracle of Jesus and the Father from life is not a blessed thing. It did not increase the faith of Thomas Jefferson and neither will it for anyone else. We need a Jesus at full strength. We need the power of God at work in our world. Let’s not be ashamed of the gospel, nor all its power. Let’s believe and look for the “greater things.”
