Sermon: The Inner Voice
Text: 2 Peter 3:11 – 13
Thesis: The End Puts Things In Perspective.

I. One Voice Might Ask, “Is It Enough?”
A. Enough is very subjective.
B. It’s about significance.

II. Another Might Ask, “Did I Do Good?”
A. Good is subjective too.
B. I think good is what we leave behind.

III. And Then There’s, “Does It Mean Anything?”
A. This voice seems to be the one Peter was most interested in.
B. Your life here was to have substantial meaning.

Conclusion: Here are the facts. One day the game of life will end for each of us. Others may keep going. In fact somewhere on the board someone may just be getting started. How wisely did we play? People say they want God, but left to their own devices they soon get caught up in worldly things, like possessions, money, looks and power. We do so thinking that they will bring us fulfillment. But this is a joke, and these things are props. In the end we give them all back to the prop master. They all go back in the box. Put your life in the proper perspective, while there is time.
