Sermon: Being Rich Is About Love
Text: Mark 12:29-31
Thesis: We Ought To Choose God’s Idea Of Rich.

I. Being Rich Toward God Means Being Generous.
A. We have the wrong assessment of being rich.
B. Accumulation was never God’s goal for us.

II. Being Rich Toward God Means Making The Temporary The Servant Of That Which Is Eternal.
A. Don’t make the temporary lord.
B. We need to work hard to truly grasp the concept of eternal.

III. Being Rich Toward God Means Enjoying Every Roll Of The Dice And Trip Around The Board.
A. Nothing comes to us by chance.
B. Every trip around the board is unique.

Conclusion: There are, as we have seen, many dimensions of richness toward God and they all matter. Here in this passage He showed us that it was all about love. Everything else is just commentary. No one can love this way and ever be poor in the eyes of the Lord. And on the other hand, no one can fail here and ever be truly rich in God’s eyes.
