Sermon: The Stretched Mind
Text: John 21:25
Thesis: The Miracles Forever Change Men.
I. Jesus Proved To Have Mastery Over Water Molecules. (John 2)
A. They recognized the voice of the One who brought them into existence.
B. Jesus quicken the pace of the process of wine making.
II. Jesus Proved His Lordship Over Latitude And Longitude. (John 4:43ff)
A. Faith in Jesus is rewarded.
B. Jesus can reach far to bring about a miracle.
III. Jesus Proved His Mastery Over Chronology. (John 5)
A. We settle and accept too much.
B. Nothing is set in stone.
IV. Jesus Introduced A New Miraculous Equation. (John 6)
A. The compassion of God has no limits.
B. Don’t under estimate the power of multiplication.
Conclusion: Friends, what we see here in these four different chapters of John is why the miracles are so important to us. We need to be reminded of the God we serve and what He can do with just a little. He’s limited by the faith we have and the trust we place in Him. May God stretch the mind and imagination of us all. And may that change us forever.
