Sermon: Just a Matter Of Time
Text: James 1:2
Thesis: Trials Come Suddenly And Without Warning.
I. James Describes Trials Appearing Without Warning.
A. This was true of the man in the parable of the Good Samaritan.
B. It was also true of the readers of James’ letter.
II. James Describes Trials When There’s No Time To Flee.
A. The traveler of Luke 10:20 had no time to get away.
B. These readers didn’t either.
III. James Describes Trials We Fall Into.
A. The man of Jesus’ parable did.
B. They just “fell into” the trials they were enduring.
Conclusion: Trials are a part of life for all those who take a stand with Christ. It’s not because you’re out of God’s will or that you have an area of weakness you’re dealing with. No, trials come, even upon the most faithful of saints. You are going to “fall into” some trials as well. They will come without warning and there won’t be time to run away. But hang tight and seek God’s help and blessing.
