Sermon: Free Indeed
Text: John 8:34 – 36
Thesis: Trust The Blood Of Jesus.

I. Self-Condemnation Happens When You Have Set The Standard.
A. God has a standard too.
B. Leave room for growth and grace.

II. Self-Condemnation Happens When You Evaluate Your Behavior.
A. There is a reason for a checks and balance system.
B. God alone is qualified to make judgments regarding our choices and behaviors.

III. Self-Condemnation Happens When You Pronounce Your Own Verdict.
A. We’re living an ongoing trial.
B. Don’t let the past steal your hope of the future.

Conclusion: Look carefully at this passage. Jesus is telling us that He’s not dealing with a theory, or conjecture. He’s stating a fact, verifiable from the throne room of Heaven. Sin will make you a slave in many ways, even in your mind. But you aren’t meant to be a slave, but a son of the Living God. So, if you allow the death of Jesus and His blood to cover your sins, then you are free indeed. That means you are totally free.
