Sermon: His Vision Of The Church
Text: Matthew 16:18; Acts 1:8
Thesis: We Should Be A Force To Be Reckoned With. (This is the Lord’s Vision)
I. The Lord’s Church Is To Be Active.
A. This is shown to us with two words; the first is translated as “you will be.”
B. The second is “witnesses.”
II. The Lord’s Church Is To Be Dynamic.
A. We are called to be influential in a dark world.
B. We are to be aware of the eternal ramifications we can potentially have.
III. The Lord’s Church Is To Be Expanding.
A. Evangelism begins local.
B. However, the goal is to take the gospel globally.
Conclusion: In November 2019 the Covid pandemic started in China, by March the following year America was within its grasp. It was very contagious and spread rapidly. Many died from it and it changed the way we lived. This is how the gospel is supposed to work too. It should and can spread rapidly. Many should die to self and sin and begin a new life in Christ. It too will change, forever the way we live. This is the Lord’s vision for His church.
