Sermon: Honoring Parents Comes With Benefits
Text: Ephesians 6:2
Thesis: We Will Never Grow Beyond The Honoring of Parents
I. Spend Time With Them.
A. Time is the most valuable gift we have.
B. Every mom values the time spent with her.
II. Raise Good Kids.
A. All parents love to see their kids being good parents.
B. Make sure your kids are loving and respectful to their grandparents.
III. Ask Them For Advice.
A. Everyone has something important to pass on.
B. No one knows everything.
IV. Forgive And Let Go Of Bitterness.
A. Make a choice not to carry needless baggage.
B. Forgiveness is something we work towards day after day.
Conclusion: There are no perfect moms or dads. Some of may have gotten close to having them, but all of them have made mistakes. Often, they will be the first to admit and wish they could write them out of the script of their lives. But they know that they cannot. We can only seek forgiveness and give it as well. This is a very special day. Mothers we love you, honor you and we want to share with them all some of the best gifts ever. We offer you, our time. We pledge to you to do our best to raise good and godly kids. We’ll be asking your advice and we’ll be forgiving people.
