Sermon: What Does God Expect?
Text: James 1:19 – 25
Thesis: God Expects A Righteous Life.
I. God Expects Us To Love One Another.
A. This is not easy with everyone.
B. We need God’s help to accomplish this.
II. God Expects Us To Recognize The Danger Of Sin.
A. The flesh is not your friend.
B. We all have our own list.
III. God Expects Us To Produce Fruit Of The Spirit.
A. This is only achieved when the Holy Spirit controls our lives.
B. A mature saint will produce fruit.
IV. God Expects Us To Forgive One Another.
A. This is a truly God-like trait.
B. It’s amazing at the little things which cause us to stumble in this area.
Conclusion: What does God expect of me? You’re not the only one asking that question. All seekers of God are looking for what He expects and desires. It’s a lot, but we have some time to begin to work in our own respective areas. These four are just the beginning, but definitely a great place to start. Let’s do this together.
