Sermon: Only The Gospel Confronts Sin
Text: 2 Timothy 3:1-5
Thesis: We Need More Than Sounding Godly.

I. Many Counterfeits Teach Good Morals And Values.
A. Paul highlighted to Timothy the moral and spiritual decline of man.
B. Man needs more than good morals and values.

II. All Counterfeits Are Devoid Of The Full Truth Of The Gospel.
A. Is half of something always better than nothing?
B. Being similar is not equal to being the same as.

III. None Of The Counterfeits Can Redeem You.
A. They don’t have the required “power” to do so.
B. Those grasping for a counterfeit are disregarding the need for this power.

Conclusion: Give me the real thing. I want the godliness which God Himself fashioned for His people. I want the Redeemer who left Heaven and came to live, die and be raised for my sin and to give me the hope of eternity. You see Satan doesn’t mind if you live a “good” life, just so long as he keeps your soul out of Heaven. He desires Hell for you. Take hold and follow the real thing.
