Sermon: Just As It Was Said
Text: Luke 24:44
Thesis: Everything Was Perfectly Fulfilled.

I. The Messiah Was To Be From The Line Of David. (2 Samuel 7:12 & 13)
A. The coming Messiah was referred to often so the people wouldn’t forget.
B. The Messiah would subdue the strongest of man’s enemies.

II. The Messiah Was To Be Born In The City Of Bethlehem. (Micah 5:2)
A. The insignificant city of Bethlehem is about to become very significant.
B. One of the most well-known persons is going to be born here.

III. The Messiah Was To Be Born Of A Virgin. (Isaiah 7:14)
A. Normal births happen every day.
B. This was all done to give men a sign.

Conclusion: Jesus is very unique. He was from the line of David by both His mother and His earthly father. God had a sense of humor. But He overcame enemies of God and man that David could not. He came from the city of David, Bethlehem though he grew up in Nazareth. He was born of a virgin Mary, selected by God to carry His seed and deliver Him to earth to then deliver us from sin. This all to prove to the skeptics of our world that God cares and loves us. This is a story that’s worth knowing and sharing. Now is the perfect time to do so.
