Sermon: The Characteristics Of A Dynamic Church
Text: Acts 11:19 – 30
Thesis: The Lord Needs His Church On Fire.

I. This Church Talked A Lot About Jesus.
A. The passage makes this fully clear.
B. These Christians could not keep their mouths shut.

II. This Church Demonstrated Joy.
A. They sent their best encourager, Barnabas.
B. Barnabas was a catalyst for joy.

III. This Church Wanted To Learn.
A. Barnabas could see this desire with the church in Antioch.
B. These Christians wanted a literate and vibrant faith.

IV. This Church Was Generous.
A. The saints were benevolent to one another.
B. We are encouraged to open our hearts and hands as God does.

Conclusion: Do we want to be a dynamic church like the one we read of in our passage? Are we willing to follow their example? If so then, we need to step up and trust God to so bless. Just remember we’re drawing attention to Him, not ourselves. Now we see what did work and what will work again and again.
