Sermon: What’s At Stake?
Text: I Corinthians 16:13 & 14
Thesis: It’s Time To Take Things Seriously.

I. Our Families Are At Stake.
A. Bad decisions hurt more than the one making them.
B. Paul was calling his readers to be alert.

II. Our Careers Are At Stake.
A. Integrity is an important trait.
B. Paul said to be strong.

III. Our Impact In The World Is At Stake.
A. We can’t give up any ground.
B. Paul calls us stand firm “in the faith.”

IV. The Reputation Of Christ Is At Stake.
A. The title of Christian is not just a word.
B. To bring shame upon the Son of God is a serious thing.

Conclusion: Treat character creep like you’d treat an assassin. That means be ready and prepared for him. Faithful manage the details of your life. Work diligently to keep your integrity intact over the long haul. Oscar Wilde once said, “True friends stab you in the front.” He meant that they tell you the truth even when you don’t want to hear it. And my friends, this is a true gift.
