Sermon: No Coincidence
Text: Matthew 1:22
Thesis: The Evidence Is Overwhelming

I. The Messiah Would Be Born of A Woman. (Genesis: 3:15)
A. These are the words of God to the serpent.
B. Christmas celebrates when this prophecy was fulfilled.

II. The Messiah Would Be Of The Line Of Abraham. (Genesis 12:1-3; 22:18)
A. A blessing large enough to bless everyone.
B. Christmas is a celebration of this blessing.

III. The Messiah Would Come Through The Tribe Of Judah. (Genesis 49:10)
A. This passage draws a picture beyond the obvious.
B. Again, we have a reason to celebrate.

Conclusion: The Bible is an unbreakable chain of truth, wisdom and prophecies given and fulfilled. The prophecies about Jesus abound throughout the OT. The NT is where we see them fulfilled in ways which only He could. Their fulfillment was to give each of us hope for life eternal. This holiday is ours to celebrate with great joy. Let’s do just that.
