Sermon: The Blessings Of A Closed Door
Text: Acts 16:6 – 10
Thesis: God Can Speak Through A Closed Door.
I. God Closes Doors To Protect Us.
A. We don’t always choose the best path.
B. God will frequently send us on what appears to be a detour.
II. God Closes Doors To Redirect Us.
A. Often, our plans are not bad plans.
B. It’s just that God’s plans are the best plans.
III. God Closes Doors To Keep Us From Less Than His Best.
A. God has a vested interest in our success.
B. God makes divine appointments for us which we only find out about in His timing.
Conclusion: Being hindered from going in one direction might be a little discouraging. Having it happen again, so quickly might really play on one’s mind. But God didn’t leave Paul hanging for very long. That evening God sent Paul a dream of a man beckoning them to Macedonia. And this led Paul to a divine appointment which no one saw coming. This is the hope we have when we move at the Lord’s direction. Let’s trust the Lord when He closes a door and see it as a blessing.
