Sermon: Take Captive Rogue Voices
Text: 2 Corinthians 10:3 – 5
Thesis: We Need To Listen Fully To God.
I. Many Voices Encourage Us To Settle For “Should”.
A. Should is playing it safe.
B. Should is not walking by faith.
II. Many Voices Encourage Us To Settle For “Have To” Instead of “Want To.”
A. Life isn’t very fulfilling just to as you “have to.”
B. Sometimes life is more fulfilling with some “want to” mixed in.
III. We Could Be Listening To The Wrong Voices.
A. Everyday we’re making choices about the voice we’re going to hear.
B. Listen to the voice which wants to bring the joy of the Lord into your life.
Conclusion: The arguments and pretensions that have set themselves up against the knowledge of God are diverse and persuasive. These voices would slowly, step by step lead us away from God and His will. They would have you to exist and go through the motions. Making you think that following the lost and their ways is more fun and fulfilling. But stop a second and decide for yourself which voice you will listen to and follow. The difference is joy unsurpassed and fulfillment. Don’t let others make your decision. Make it for yourself.
