Sermon: Renewed Spiritual Zeal
Text: I Peter 1:10 – 12
Thesis: We Need To Give The Spirit Space To Reveal.

I. Pause When You’re Confused And Do Additional Research.
A. The Scripture is not always easily grasped.
B. Sometimes a little digging is required.

II. Pause When You’re Convicted And Set Things Right.
A. The Holy Spirit wields a revealing mirror.
B. We need to let conviction move us to action.

III. Pause When You Feel Prompted And Pray for Further Direction.
A. The Word of God is often like an alarm clock.
B. But don’t run ahead recklessly without God’s guidance.

Conclusion: As our passage shows us God didn’t have all the human authors of the Bible to write only to exercise their hands. He passed His message to us through them. They often realized that their message was not for their benefit, but to those who would read the words many years later. And this message was one which even the angels “long” or desire to hear and know. Maybe, you will better use the pause after hearing God’s voice with the Scriptures.
