Sermon: Don’t Settle For A Lifeless Religion
Text: Galatians 3:10 – 14
Thesis: We Need More Than Bibliolatry.

I. When The Spirit Is Removed From The Equation, We’re Left With The Letter Of The Law.
A. Without the Spirit God is greatly muted.
B. The letter of the law will always come up short.

II. The Letter Of The Law Is Not Life Giving.
A. Jesus came to give life.
B. Man was made with a creative side and the Spirit allows it to thrive.

III. What We’re Left With Is Rule Keeping And A Lifeless Religion Called Legalism.
A. Rule keeping is what we see in the lives of Pharisees.
B. Legalism is hard to defeat.

Conclusion: As the Hebrews were moving towards the bpromised land God spoke to them a few times and soon after the people asked Moses to tell God not to do so anymore. But today, church let’s ask God to speak more often and through means which we can hear and understand. Let’s encourage Him to lead through the Spirit regularly and to give us the courage to follow and go beyond what any other generation has done on His behalf. Let’s ask Him to help us “go.”
