Sermon: Honor Always
Text: Deuteronomy 5:16
Thesis: There’s Never A Wrong Season To Honor Parents.

I. One Way We Honor Our Parents Is To Thank Them.
A. Be specific.
B. Leave nothing unsaid.

II. A Second Way We Honor Our Parents Is To Serve Them.
A. Parents are among the best servants of all.
B. Parents will sometimes also need a supportive fan.

III. And Honor Them By Praying For Them.
A. Everyone can use more prayer.
B. Prayer often changes the attitudes of all those involved.

Conclusion: It’s clear from the word of God that God desires for us to honor our parents. To those whom the book of Deuteronomy was written they were encouraged to do so in order that they would be blessed in the land God gave them. To us, is promised a longer life if we obey God’s desire for us to honor our parents. And so, we should seek to respect our parents despite any failings they may have had in life. And we should show love and support them throughout their lives. We should let our service to them be our reward to servants who have served us well. This is the will of God.
