By John Ormond on September 20, 2012

Sermon:  Do We Understand Slavery?
Text: Galatians 1:10
Thesis: Slavery Changes Us Completely.

I. There Is A Doing What Is Commanded No Matter The Cost.
A. We need to understand our place and role.
B. We need to understand that there will be a price to pay.

II. There Is An Emptying Of Self.
A. Those who hold to “self” are on dangerous ground.
B. This is following the example of the best servant of all time.

III. There Is A Remembering That You Were Bought With A Price.
A. That price gives you significance.
B. The one paying the price has certain expectations.

Conclusion: Okay, now you better understand the role and place of a slave. Paul used a word ripe with meaning and imagery. This word draws images with us too. I hope it with the desire to be a good servant and slave to the work God has shared with us. It took the Damascus road for Paul to respond. Is it time for you to visit your Damascus road?
